5 months- aka where did my baby go?

Baby N, how are you now 5 months old? You are such a joy to us, I honestly can't remember life before your whole face smile! You scrunch it up and make anyone who sees you feel proud that you showed them that smile!

In the last month, you started sitting up for short periods without assistance along with that crawling thing. All you want to do is get to your brothers' legos and trains. You are great at smashing the legos around and getting them to fall apart. Such skills for such a young person! You are rarely sad, unless you are in the car at dark or hungry. At your 4 month appointment (we went late!) you weighed a whopping 12.9 lbs. You are much too busy to eat for very long at a time but you appear very interested in table food so we are planning to enter that world within the week. What will you first meal be? Hmmm...stay tuned to find out!

4.5 Months

Sweet baby is now crawling.
We are so happy for you because you have been working hard but it is impossible to turn our back for a second because you crawl like a streak of lightning, almost too fast to see you!
It's so hard to watch her grow so fast, why must time pass so quickly?
She has made it so easy to have an extra little one in the house.
Rarely cries, only smiles, giglges, and now crawls on her merry way.
Sigh.
Love you so much baby N.

Halloween

The Woody, The Buzz, and the Catepillar

We celbrated Halloween the entire month of October. We visited numerous pumpkin patches, corn mazes, picked apples, and rode as many hayrides as we could fit on.

School days are here again

well, our big 4 year old is now in preK. That means pre-KINDERGARTEN in case you didn't know. How is this happening? We are happy for him but wow he is growing so fast. He has had an adventurous first week with a few teacher changes but things are settling down and he's as happy as can be. We love their school so much. As far as we know, we will be keeping them at this school through 8th grade.
E is now going two days a week to the 2 year old class. He loves it soooo much but again, it's so hard to see these little ones grow so fast. Our sweet E, with his love of all things beebo is in school now. My life is one big bittersweet symphony right now.

2 Months- N

Where is the time going? How are you suddenly two months old? N, what a fun first two months you have had!
First order of business, you have started ROLLING OVER (belly to back)! You started two days before your 2 month birthday, beating out your brothers' records by a matter of days. You have been working very hard on this for weeks and were so surpised when it finally happened! I tried to get a video, this is the best i could capture:

24 weeks

Dear Baby,
You are getting bigger and I feel you more and more every day, which is very comforting because I felt you later than I did your big brothers. You have been quite active with all the rocking and rolling that has been going on in your home, with the stomach bug that hit our family this week. It hasn't been fun, you haven't been missing out on much this week!

We are so excited to see you and have so much to do in these last weeks before you arrive! We bought you a new dresser/changing table to put in our room. Yes, OUR room, there isn't one for you just yet! Hope you won't mind, your brothers enjoyed rooming with us for quite some time before they moved into their own big boy rooms.

We still do not know if you are a boy or a girl, Daddy and I think boy, and O is sure you are a sister. You do not have a name(s) yet, it's such a hard decision! We will find the most perfect one that we can, for sure.

Thank you for giving me such an easy pregnancy up to this point. This is our last time going through this and I am enjoying every second of it!

I will leave with some pictures from your "big" ultrasound a few weeks ago. Everything checked out and you looked very healthy. Yay!

Snow In my Eyes

So, the snow found us again. That's twice this winter.
It was a fun morning (4 inches=snow you can work with) but we were ready to see it quickly melt as the day wore on. As was everyone else, judging by the crowds at the grocery store as soon as roads were drivable.

Our house is on the best hill in the neighborhood so all of the neighborhood kids gathered to sled down. This was the first time sledding for our boys. O loved it, E did too until Daddy pulled to fast and he ended up face down in the cold snow. He cried (which he rarely does anymore) so I took him in. Daddy and O stayed out and built a dirty snowman, complete with droopy carrot nose and droopy carrottop hair.

When it was too cold to play any longer, we collected some fresh snow for snow cream! This was E's favorite part of the day. He ate on it for maybe an hour without stopping to breathe. O had a bowl of snow that was used to make his on snow concoction, he mixed, stirred, splashed, and whisked that stuff all day. It was great!

Now, no more snow please.

The terrible twos

Sometimes, most of the time lately, it is hilarious that our business name is Happy Family. Ha! HeeHee! Hoohoooooo!

We have finally entered into the world of tantrums. Not from our almost 2 year old of course, it's our 3.5 year old who is giving us this pleasure! The last few weeks have been wooly and wild. We know there is a reason behind this sort of behaviror and we think the reason is he has officially outgrown his nap. Oh crap. I loved that nap.

So this week O finally gave up his afternoon siesta. Instead he has "quiet time" which is supposed to be simple, quiet time..with books or blocks. Quiet time has mostly been an hour of him running around yelling at the top of his lungs "IT'S QUIIIEEETTTT TIME!!" He is very happy to have outgrown his nap. So I will be happy too. Even though I sooooooo miss that free afternoon time! It has been one less battle and the tantrums have calmed down. E sleeps on peacefully.

Get this party started

Here I am! My new year's resolution (one of several of course), was to start a blog to keep track of all of the happenings and unhappenings of our lives. It only took me 25 days to get things moving, woohoo!

Here are a few pictures from our recent trip to the aquarium. We bought a membership, we go enough to make it more than worth it. It's one of the best places to escape the winter cold and bond with the fishes.

ps. My other resolutions were:
1: To not eat beef, which is huge for me since I am part cheeseburger. I eat (ate) them all the time. Due to the way it started making my skin crawl and belly roar, i decided to stop eating it. I have had 3 cheeseburgers in the last 25 days. Being pregnant, I really do crave it (iron?)so I give in when that happens. Then my skin crawls and belly roars.
2: To walk every day. This one has gone fairly well considering it's been cold every day but 2 days this year. Those 2 days I did walke.
